New Delhi. Just two days before the start of the Tokyo Olympics, India's 10m air rifle shooters got only 20 minutes of practice at the Asaka Shooting Range due to the time allotted for different teams. While other Indian shooters practiced for more than two hours, rifle shooters including Apurvi Chandela and Elavenil Valarivan got less than half an hour to practice. Apurvi and Elavenil have to participate in the competition on 24th July.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) said on Wednesday, "Shooters from all the participating countries are practicing at the same venue and hence the timings have been fixed for each team. That's why it happened." He said, "This morning's practice session lasted for two-and-a-half hours but the 10m Air Rifle team got only 20-30 minutes. The women's 10m air rifle events will begin on Saturday while the men's events in this category will begin the next day.

Deepak Kumar and Divyansh Singh Panwar will represent India in the men's 10m rifle event. It has also been learned that the eight Indian shooters who are competing on the first two days will not participate in the opening ceremony of the Games on Friday. These include Apurvi and Elavenil, besides 10m air pistol shooters Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma on the first day. Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Singh Deswal, Deepak and Divyansh will target on the second day.

He and his horse Signor Medicott could finish in the top 25 if they do well in the individual show jumping qualifiers on Monday. With this they will make it to the finals of the individual category of Eventing Jumping to be held in the evening. Mirza's total 39. There are 20 penalty points. He completed the country run in just eight minutes.

In the equestrian crosscountry individual category, a competitor must complete the course in seven minutes and 45 seconds to reduce the time penalty. The lower the penalty, the higher the equestrian will be in the points table. Mirza and Signor started late due to a technical problem, due to which they got 11. Got 20 penalty points. He was ninth in the dressage round after a stellar performance. He got 28 penalty points in that. Now he has to move to show jumping, in which if he finishes in the top 25, he will make it to the eventing jumping final. Britain's Oliver Townend is at the top with a total of 23 . There are 60 penalty points. Britain's Laura Collett is second and Germany's Julia Krajewski third.
