Story of Bhramari Devi: Every fiber of your being will become devotional after listening to this mysterious tale, when the mother defeated the demons with innumerable bumblebees
Story of Bhramari Devi: There there existed a powerful demon by the name of Arun. The netherworld was home to that demon that harbored animosity against the gods. He became determined to overthrow the gods. In order to appease Lord Brahma, he traveled to the Himalayas and began doing intense penance.

While adhering to the challenging regulations, thousands of years went by. His body began to emit fierce flames of fire as a result of the penance effect, frightening even the gods of heaven.
What had transpired so abruptly was beyond their comprehension! The gods all went to Brahma and told him the whole story. Following his listening to the gods, Brahma got on the swan with Gayatri Devi and proceeded to the location where the demon Arun was meditating.
He worshipped Gayatri with great fervor. Brahma invited him to seek for a favor after being pleased with his penance. When Demon Arun saw Goddess Gayatri and Brahma in the sky, he got very joyful.
He collapsed to the ground and began to kowtow before them. He prayed for immortality in a variety of ways. However, Brahma Ji said, “Son! Ask for another blessing since everyone who is born in this world will eventually die.
Arun then said, “Prabhu! If this is the case, kindly bestow upon me the blessing that no two-legged or four-legged creature should be able to kill me, nor shall I perish in battle, with a weapon, or from a woman or man. Give me the power to defeat the gods as well.
The demon Arun went insane after getting the great gift, and Brahma Ji vanished after pronouncing “Tathastu.” He assembled a vast army of demons from the netherworld and launched an assault on heaven. The boon’s influence resulted in the defeat of the gods.
Heaven was overrun by the demon Arun. He used to utilize his Maya to build a wide variety of shapes. As a result of his penance, he began to rule over the gods Indra, Surya, Chandrama, Yama, Agni, and others.
The gods fled, sought sanctuary with Ashutosh Lord Shankar, and confided in him about their plight. Lord Shankar was thinking deeply at the moment.
He began to believe that this demon had become indestructible as a result of the peculiar gift that Brahma Ji had given him; he could not be slain by a woman or a man, he could not be killed by a two-legged creature, or he could not be killed by a weapon. He became quite concerned and began to consider ways to murder him.
Simultaneously, a voice from above said, “Gods! The only person who can complete your task is Bhavagati Bhuvaneshwari, whom you should all adore. The demon king Arun would soon perish if he ceases to revere Gayatri and recite Gayatri chants every day.
The voice from the heavens gave all the gods confidence. For Arun’s intellectual stimulation, he sent Devguru Brihaspati Ji. Following Brihaspati Ji’s departure, Bhagwati Bhuvaneshwari became the object of adoration for the gods.
However, Arun ceased reciting Gayatri as a result of the efforts of Brihaspati Ji and the inspiration of Bhagwati Bhuvaneshwari. His physique became weak as soon as he stopped practicing Gayatri meditation. Brihaspati returned to Amravati, knowing that his labor had been effective, and told Indra and the other gods the complete story.
Once again, the goddess was praised by all the gods. Their devotion delighted Adi Shakti Jaganmata, who manifested before the gods in a special form. Her Shri Vigraha was radiating light like millions of suns.
Her beauty was superior to that of many other ladies. She had a garland of flowers with all kinds of bees on it, and she was decked up in lovely clothing and decorations. Innumerable bees swarmed around her from every direction. “Hreem” was being hummed by Bhramar.
He had delusions in his fist. The gods began to praise the goddess once again after seeing her, declaring, “Bhagwati Mahavidye, the destroyer of creation, existence, and destruction!” Salutations to you. Durga, the goddess! We honor you because you are the epitome of brightness and may be attained by commitment.
Oh Neelasaraswati, Goddess! You are known by the titles Ugratara, Tripura Sundari, Pitambara, Bhairavi, Matangi, Shakambhari, Shiva, Gayatri, Saraswati, and Swaha, Swadha. O goddess of mercy! You have vanquished Raktabeej, Vritrasur, and Dhumralochan, and you have destroyed Shumbha-Nishumbha, preventing the world from being destroyed.
Dayamurta, oh! We honor you. Dear Goddess! That’s because, O Bhramari Devi, you’re surrounded by illusions! We always submit to your heavenly form.
The Gods frequently saluted Bhramari Devi, asking her to spare them the suffering inflicted by the demon Arun, who had gained invincibility via Lord Brahma’s blessing.
“Gods!” said the empathetic Mother Bhramari Devi. Be brave, everyone. I have assumed this Bhramari shape in order to safeguard Lord Brahma’s blessing. Neither two-legged nor four-legged creatures should kill me, according to the demon Arun’s request. Bhramari is also known as Shatpad because this variety of mine has six legs.
He has prayed that I won’t be killed by a weapon or in a conflict. For this reason, I shall not engage in combat with him or employ any kind of weaponry in this Bhramari form. In addition, he has requested a blessing that no person, deity, etc. should kill him. I am neither a deity nor a human in this Bhramari form.
Gods! I have adopted this Bhramari form for that reason. You all may now view my leela. When Bhramari Devi said this, the bees in her palm and those around her were inspired, and countless bees began to go in that direction while producing the sound “Hrim – Hrim.”
Those bumblebees were everywhere throughout the three planets where Arun demon was located.
Bees could be seen in the trees, woods, mountain tops, and the sky everywhere. The bumblebees caused the sun to hide. All around, darkness grew. This was Bhramari Devi’s peculiar play. The devils’ chests were punctured by those swiftly moving bumblebees.
They began biting the demons after adhering to their bodies. The devils began to writhe in agony. There was no weapon that could defeat the bumblebees. Despite his best efforts, Arun Demon was also unsuccessful.
The demons were quickly killed by the bumblebee bites wherever they appeared. Arun Demon experienced the same thing. Every weapon he used failed. In order to defend Brahmaji’s gift and defeat the demon Arun and his whole army of demons, the Goddess assumed the shape of Bhramari and performed a miracle.
