After marriage, Lord Shankar started living with Parvati ji on Mount Kailash. But Parvati, the daughter of Parvataraja Himalaya, did not like to live in her father’s house in her married life. Mother Parvati said, I do not like to live here; please take me to your residence. After marriage, all the girls go with their husbands, but I have to live with my father. At the request of the mother, Lord Shiva took her to his holy city, Kashi. Here Lord Shiva came and established himself as Vishwaeshwar Jyotirlinga.
Vishweshwarkhand is located in the middle of Kashi, Kedarkhand is in the south and Omkarkhand is in the north. This area is home to the famous Vishweshwar Jyotirlinga. According to the Puranas, the mere darshan of this Jyotirlinga grants the devotee salvation, which destroys all the sins of life.
