In front of the circle formed in the middle of the foggy stone is the idol of Hari Narayan on the floor, and next to it is the idol of the Goddess. On the remaining wall is the very old boon-giving mother, also known as Mahishasura Mardini, who is seated. On the same white stone, there is a really beautiful and artistic saree with shield-like weaponry in the center. In addition, a five-foot-tall idol of the gods is erected, accompanied by a bow and weapons, and inscribed on both sides are images of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and other deities.

The ancient Rupeshwar Mahadev narrative

The Padma monarch killed wild creatures called Sahas while hunting, then went into an ashram by himself in a very beautiful forest, where he met a female dressed as an ascetic, according to the account Mahadev told Goddess Parvati in Padma Kalpa. She consented to the union, and the monarch used the Gandharva procedure to marry the girl.

The wise man cursed

However, Kanva Rishi cursed the girl and the king with ugliness upon his return. The girl responded, “I have chosen you as my husband.” To lift the curse, the sage sent them both to Mahakalvan, where they were both transformed into beautiful beings after seeing the form-giving Linga, which became known as Rupeshwar.
