Ramayana Story: Mother Sita could have destroyed Ravana in a moment, know why she did not do so
Ramayana Story: It is believed that Mother Sita is the goddess Lakshmi. She has the same strength as Lord Rama. When Ravana arrived to take her, she had the option to turn him into ashes if she so desired. Even after arriving in Ashot Vatika, she had the option to kill Ravana at any moment or to turn him to ashes if she so desired. However, Mother Sita was able to defend herself, so why didn’t she do this? The incarnation of Shakti was really Mother Sita.

Kheer Katha
It is said that Sitaji prepared kheer for the sages and family members when she first arrived at her in-laws’ home and then served it to Dasharath and everyone else. A little piece of grass slipped into King Dasharath’s kheer as she was giving it to them, and everyone grabbed their plates as a powerful blast of wind rushed through.
Mother Sita had seen the straw, but how to take it out of the kheer in front of everyone was a major conundrum. Then, when she gazed at the straw from afar, it soared once again and turned to ashes in the air upon seeing Mother Sita. Sita Ji believed that no one had seen her miracle, but King Dasharath had, and he realized that she was not just any woman—rather, she was the mother of the world. After seeing this miracle of hers, he was also terrified.
Mother Sita’s Word
Mother Sita promised that King Dasharath would go to his chamber after eating kheer and then summon Sita ji to his room. “I have witnessed your miracle and now I know who you are,” he said to Mother Sita. Therefore, you promise me now that you will never again look at anybody else with the same eyes that you used to gaze at that straw. Mother Sita made a vow to Dasharath ji upon hearing this: “I shall never again gaze at anybody with these eyes.”
She could have burnt him to ashes herself when Ravana kidnapped her, but she was constrained by the vow she had made to King Dasharatha, which is how Ravana was rescued. Consequently, she would keep her temper in check and just gaze at Ravana with a straw in her palm whenever he attempted to approach her or threaten her.
